Part-time Positions Available:

Help Me Grow Home Visitor (PART-TIME 25-29 hrs/week)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Provides Help Me Grow Home Visiting services for expectant mothers and families with children birth through age five years using adult coaching and reflective strategies primarily in the family’s home. Provides supports that are family-centered, strength-based and directed at strengthening the parent-child relationship and assisting parents in improving their skills to optimize the home environment. Provides emotional support and connects families to resources throughout the community to help prevent child abuse and neglect. Provides pregnancy and parenting education and support based upon evidence-based practices to achieve goals for the family as identified in the service plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:   

-Minimum of Associate’s Degree in field related to early childhood or human services, or working with pregnant women,infants and toddlers, or families

-Excellent interpersonal communication skills

-Effectively utilize current technology to promote accuracy and productivity

-Freedom from substance abuse Satisfactory BCI check (Bureau of Criminal Investigation)

-Valid driver’s license and car insurance coverage required

 

CLASSIFICATION:   

-Part-time (25 to 29 hours/week) professional position

-12 months per year

-Requires occasional evening hours

-Flexible hours

DUTIES:

• Coordinate the determination of eligibility for the Help Me Grow Home Visiting program.

• Facilitate a process that helps eligible families identify personal goals and services/supports that result in their desired outcome. • Ensure that services are responsive to all preferences and needs of each family.

• Complete assessments, screenings and other tools as required. • Initiate and maintain regular support with families primarily within the family’s home according to evidence-based model fidelity.

• Provide supports directed at increasing a family’s ability to problem solve and assume the role of advocate for themselves and their children.

• Provide crisis intervention when needed, including in cooperation with other agencies and/or law enforcement as.

• Attend scheduled and appropriate in-services, workshops or seminars as requested or required. Attend regular team meetings as required.

• Document and maintain all required data needed within the assigned time frame.

 

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Part-Time Employees (29 hours per week or less): Life insurance, paid vacation, and paid sick leave. All Mercer County employees become members of the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System and have access to deferred compensation programs.
